A spacious library with an area of sq. feet and books available three hours per week is allotted within the timetable for regular work. The books are lent to the students for a week. Book bank also serves as a good resource for learning. The library works from 9 Am to 5 Pm throughout the year except on Sundays and government holidays. This center of learning is updated every year with the addition of new volumes. In our college Library, books are added newly in this academic year. To maintain the standard and regular circulation two Journals are deleted and two new journals are added along with the existing journals. At present, there are volumes available in our library. We have an Automated Library. We provide various services such as OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), Reprographic, and Reference, Internet, etc to the students and staff members. We have a Book Bank facility for needy students.
RCE Hostel
All Hostels are well equipped with basic and modern facilities and attached with guest rooms to accommodate the guests who visit the hostels. The respective messes attached to the hostels provide quality and nutritious Vegetarian & non-vegetarian food in a hygienic environment. A recreation room with TV and provisions for indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, and Carom are available. Resident Tutors reside in both the hostels and they take care of the discipline and other welfare activities of the residents. There are separate generators as stand by for supply of electricity continuously. A car for emergency hostel use is in place 24 hours a day.

The Physical Science Lab measures around sq. ft. It has been designed in such a way to enable the student teachers to perform experiments in Physics and Chemistry as a trial before going to teach in their respective schools. The college conducts the following co-curricular activities to help the students with all-around personality development. Community Service Camp in a rural setting to develop social values and service to society.

RCE Counselling Unit – Vocational and Career guidance is given to enable students to procure placements. Campus interviews are arranged to enable students to join schools immediately after the completion of the course. At present the students approach the faculty to overcome their academic and personal problems.
RCE Remedial Teaching – Spoken English classes are conducted for students who experience difficulty in English usage. Simplified materials and extra classes for students requiring individual attention are provided.
Subject Associations provide opportunities for more activities such as quizzes, competitions, debates, panel discussions, etc. as part of the curricular activities.
Interest Clubs - Students select an interest club of their choice. They plan out activities and carry them out during the course of the year.

Towards the end of the year, students' feedback on teachers is obtained through appraisal questionnaires to ascertain their proficiency in the subject, discipline, communication, relationship with students, interest in student welfare, and the staff are appraised on their weaknesses and strengths. This is done with the objective of helping the faculty to modify and develop teaching practices in order to achieve excellence in education.
RCE Mentor System
The main aim of this system is to help the teachers to interact with the students and to provide positive counseling tips for the problems faced by the students from time to time. National Eligibility Test (NET) / State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) /Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) coaching classes are organized.
The Placement Cell was formed in the year 2009-2010 and it functions effectively under the chairmanship of the Principal and two teachers with the main objectives to establish linkage between the institutions and the various schools in and around Thoothukudi. To encourage the students to participate in Campus interviews and to facilitate the students to be placed in reputed institutions. The cell informs the various schools in and around Thoothukudi about the provision for conducting placement interviews in the college; gives information to the students about the available vacancies, makes proper arrangements for campus interviews, and forwards the application of student teachers to the placement centers on their request.
